Tottenham Secure New Defender
Tottenham Hotspur have levelled up their defences by signing defender Radu Dragusin from Italian side Genoa for £25 million.
The Lilywhites welcomed their new teammate with a statement on their official website on Thursday, 11 January, saying they were “delighted” by the news, but the 21-year-old Romanian’s transfer was “subject to international clearance and a work permit.”
“I know the club has an incredible fanbase, they have incredible staff and players, so I was looking forward to joining,” Dragusin told his new club shortly after signing the transfer agreement.
“I can say that the decision was inside of my heart, already done. It’s incredible. I didn’t imagine all of this and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and starting on the pitch,” he added.
As part of the deal, Spurs defender Djed Spence will join Genoa on loan for the rest of the 2023-2024 season.
Tottenham are moving quickly this transfer season, having also secured Germany forward Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig earlier this week.
